The spectrum of life is as multihued as a rainbow and as multifaceted as a finely cut diamond. Life acquires its most colorful and brilliant dimensions during the school going age. Each day is marked with discovery, every year becomes a milestone of achievements, of shared joys and experiences, of attachments and friendships. Gradually, the self merges into the main stream of society, thus socializing the individual, which is a very important function of education.
Elasticity of mind constitutes the foundation of education. The young should be allowed to grow out of the past and into the future. Our children should be given the chance to soar high, guided by centuries of wisdom but free to have a vision of their own. They should be equipped with the skills to actualize their vision and follow through with their mission. Our children should become success stories. When finally we let go, they should be prepared to lend a hand, to become leaders in their own right, a source of inspiration for others and cause of unending pride and joy for to their alma mater.
This is the age of breakthroughs, extraordinary leaps in science and technology, in understanding that has vastly elevated our quality of life. This is the age of youth. The school environment provides direct access to their sources of accomplishment, enjoyment and of self-expression. With this access, they are able to shape their own actions with responsibility, enhance their performance and reinforce the results.
The impact is like putting their hands directly on the controls that govern their effectiveness, their creativity, their utility and the satisfaction they experience in being alive. I wish them all success in life.
“May Allah bless our children and the hands which guide them”
